Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using HomePlank (the "Service"), operated by Exhort Technologies, LLC ("we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the service

HomePlank is a bookmark and knowledge-management tool that lets you:

  • Save web pages with titles, notes, and tags
  • Organize bookmarks into collections ("planks") and search across them
  • Optionally generate AI summaries and ask questions answered from your saved pages
  • Share planks and collaborate with teammates
  • Save pages from the optional HomePlank browser extension

3. Account registration

  • You must provide accurate information and keep it current.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity under your account.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
  • Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Plans, billing & free use

  • HomePlank is free for personal use; no credit card is required to start.
  • Certain team or AI features may be offered as paid plans. Where a paid plan applies, pricing and billing terms are shown at the point of purchase.
  • Paid subscriptions, where offered, are billed in advance and renew automatically until cancelled.
  • You can cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Save, store, or share unlawful, infringing, or harmful content;
  • Violate any applicable law or the rights of others, including intellectual-property and privacy rights;
  • Attempt to hack, overload, disrupt, scrape, or reverse-engineer the Service;
  • Use the Service to send spam or to harass or harm others;
  • Share your credentials or resell access to the Service without our permission;
  • Circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or security controls.

6. Your content & ownership

  • You own your content. You retain all rights to the bookmarks, notes, and other content you add.
  • License to us. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to operate and provide the Service to you (and to teammates you share with).
  • Our IP. The HomePlank software, design, and branding remain the property of Exhort Technologies, LLC.
  • No AI training on your content. We do not use your saved content to train machine-learning models, and we do not sell it.
  • Third-party pages. Content fetched from the URLs you save belongs to its respective owners; you are responsible for having the right to save and share it.

7. AI features

  • AI summaries and answers are generated with the help of a third-party language-model provider, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for verifying it before relying on it.
  • AI features are assistive tools, not professional, legal, financial, or medical advice.

8. Service availability

  • We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Where practical, we will give notice of significant changes.

9. Data, backups & export

  • We maintain operational backups, but you are responsible for keeping your own copies of important content.
  • You can export or delete your bookmarks at any time. To delete your account, contact us using the details below.
  • We are not liable for content lost through your own deletion or error.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, or engage in fraudulent or abusive activity, or where required by law. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and the accuracy or reliability of AI-generated content.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Exhort Technologies, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or data loss. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD $50.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Exhort Technologies, LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Exhort Technologies, LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
